Welcome everyone. Well, it's hard to believe it's July already. Where has the year gone??? .... and, as the 1st Saturday of the month, it's our exciting blog hop time again - this time giving you our ideas for
Christmas in July.
If you haven't joined us before, this is our monthly blog hop from the team of the Demonstrator of the Year, Claire Daly and our Art With Heart Team. On the first Saturday of each month we have something new and exciting to show you and you can click on each member's name and 'hop' to their blog and therefore go through all the blogs and have a good look. It's a YOU time, so grab a cuppa, sit back and relax, and ENJOY.
If you've come from ROS DAVIDSON'S wonderful creations, welcome. I'm sure she has something fantastic as usual to show you.
I've found it a bit challenging this month as I still have my wrist in plaster but I hope you like my creations.
The first one is a bit different.....I didn't use any stamps at all - just the Simply Scrappin' I Wish kit found on page 137 of the catalogue. This is produced mainly for our scrapbookers, but these cards show just what else can be done with it. All I have done is add some brads and of course, dazzling diamonds and crystal effects. Shows you can do so much with these sets and they are fantastic value for $36.95. I have also done a workshop using this set and it was extremely well accepted. The ladies loved it. If anyone is interested in obtaining a set, just let me know.
This is the I Wish Simply Scrapping Set. You get everything you need in the set - cardstock, DSP and self adhesive labels and decorations. All you need to make something just gorgeous. And you can make so many things too.
I used the Old Olive cardstock and cut a tri shutter card and the rest was easy. I added DSP from the I Wish set and self adhesive die cuts and then just Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds and Rhinestone Brads for Bling. Don't you think it looks good for something so easy to make?
Card open..... (Can't see too clearly but there is Dazzling Diamonds everywhere and Crystal aEffects as well as the brads that you can see easily).
Card closed....
I also made an envelope using our new scallop envelope die cut made slightly larger (by tracing around then cutting using the scallop border punch for the top) to hold 4 small Christmas gift cards, again using the I Wish DSP and self adhesives and some extra bling including Real Red grosgrain ribbon. (You know I can't do without the bling).
Here's the envelope:
..and here's the envelope together with the gift cards. Makes a lovely gift idea for friends and family doesn't it.
Here's the whole set of card, envelope and gift cards:
This is another card made using the set. Again shows the versatility and the 'no stamp' idea of the kit.
The Second Card I made using the Brayer Technique and the Wish for Peace stamp set. I used old olive, pink pirouette and regal rose, baja breeze and not quite navy re-inkers for the brayering and then black embossed the stamp. Some light sponging, colouring using Stampin Write Markers and some Dazzling Diamond complete this section of the card which I then mounted on basic black cardstock.
The card was a basic black first layer, then polka dot embossed whisper white as the next layer, Patterns DSP in Baja Breeze mounted again on black cardstock as another layer, baja breeze satin ribbon from the Ribbon Originals set again mounted on black and finally the brayered layer completed the card. Black brads and a beautiful bow complete this card.
Here's my Brayered, layered, Wish for Peace Christmas Card.
Again, I made a scallop envelope and added some gift cards. I used Baja Breeze for the envelope which is again slightly larger than the SU scallop envelope die cut. As you can see, I also brayered and embossed the front panel of the envelope panel using the Wish for Peace stamp and used several other stamp sets and techniques to finish these cards off.
Here is the set:
This completes my Christmas in July Blog Hop. I hope you've enjoyed it. Now, if you would like to leave any comment it would be great, and remember, you must leave a comment at everyone's blog so you are in the running for our great blog candy prize. All you have to do is email Nikki at [email protected] to be eligible. Unfortunately only non demonstrators please are eligible for this prize.
If you get lost along the way, it doesn't matter. Here is a complete list of those of us who have contributed.

Hi Di
You have made so much with your wrist in plaster, it hasn't effected your creativity!! Love the brayering and ideas for the Simply Scrappin' I Wish kit, it is good value for money.
Thanks
Lisa

I too am amazed at the fabulous range of creations you managed to make despite your sore arm! You have done a fabulous job! I particularly liked your "I wish" ideas- I won some of this in some blog candy and now have lots of great new ideas for using it! Thanks!

Wow, you certainly love making Christmas cards!! The brayered technique came out beautifully, and I love the polk-a-dot texture on the second set of cards!

These are all so very beautiful Di. You have put so much effort into them. I especially love the trifold card. I plan on making a few of these now that I have my score pal.

You have been super-busy, and are well on your way to being all set for Christmas already, Di! I LOVE the little gift cards and envelope, especially.

I have been meaning to try the tri-shutter card - it looks sensational with the I Wish Kit, nice job. I can't believe you did all this with your arm in plaster!!

What a gorgeous array of cards Di. (Sorry - running a tad late here on my more leisurely hop!) Love what you've done with the I Wish kit and that gorgeous brayering too.

Some nice cards, although I wouldnt buy any for christmas in July as they are all very festive/winter ones? Possibly twist the theme, maybe sandmen instead of snowmen? Palm trees instead of christmas trees etc

That is really awesome. This is also a good staff for those who wants to present something to his or her beloved but has no Idea about what should it be.
